We want to understand how much time people are spending configuring and setting up tablets for kiosk, digital signage, POS and other single-purpose deployments. We’re giving away $50 Amazon gift cards randomly to people who share their deployment experiences by answering a few questions for us.
We have said for a long time that using the iPad as a kiosk is intuitive and obvious. Using tablets in retail, restaurants, hotels and more is a really great end user experience. However, it’s easy to underestimate the amount of time it really takes to transform these consumer tablets and use them in commercial settings.
We talk to customers every day who are surprised by the amount of work that it takes to configure and deploy tablets. iOS and Android tablets have been tuned and optimized to make the right-out-of-the-box experience really simple and easy for consumers. But, when you’re using them as a commercial device it isn’t that simple. When you have 5, 10, 100 or even 1,00 tablets sitting on your desk it is a daunting task.
We want to better understand what your deployment experience has been. Was it easier or harder than you expected? How long does it take you per tablet to get it ready to be deployed? Let us know what it was like for you to deploy iPads or Android tablets by answering just a few questions here. Remember, we are giving away a handful of $50 Amazon gift cards to random entries so let us know how your deployments have gone.

We are a fire department and at the present time we have placed IPads in the chiefs vehilces with pre-plans and inspection information on them.. They also have the District street cards on them. If all works well with them in the vehicles we may replace the mobile data terminals in the trucks with IPads..
